Dolls and Toys: Its a Microchip Universe

Wednesday February 25, 2004
One thing I certainly noticed at Toy Fair this year was the prevalence of technology in nearly everything--in plush, in dolls, in toys of all types. For instance, thanks to new technologies, dolls and plush can interact with television shows and DVDs. The Princess and the Pauper Barbie dolls will not only be able to sing along with their DVD, but also sing in harmony with each other! Is this new technology just a gimmick or a window to a whole new play world? Time will tell, but in the meantime, for more details on the new doll and toy technologies read Toymakers Bet Big on Microchips from Wired News.
