IDEX West a Success!

Monday February 2, 2004
First, I want to apologize that I didn't have more live updates from IDEX--after my first post on Saturday, I tried to install some Wi-Fi software on my lap top computer. Big mistake--I messed up my Internet connection completely and I'm still sorting it out.

I have lots of news and photos from the show! Although IDEX West was a smaller show and not as heavily attended as IDEX Premiere, all attendees agreed that IDEX West was a big hit. Besides exhibits from major doll companies including Wendy Lawton, Adora, Inc., Vogue and the Tonner Doll Company and many doll artists, there was a small doll show with several dealers, a show showcasing the doll as art, and several wonderful doll events.
I attended the Velvet Sunrise breakfast, where there was a charming slide presentation featuring Tonner's Jane in Paris, and which featured Tiny Kitty in Red Velvet Cascade as the souvenir doll. I also attended the Vogue luncheon, Vintage Ginny Remembered, which was such fun that even my 11-year old son, (who I had dragged along) had a good time. The souvenir doll for this luncheon was one of the new vintage Ginny inspired dolls!

I also truly enjoyed the Fashion Doll Makeover competition sponsored by Haute Doll Magazine. I have photos of all the winners which I'll be sharing in an article this week. I was thrilled to personally know one of the winners, Jewelianne, a friend and customer from my town!

And, of course, the IDEX Masters Gallery was inspirational.
