I'm up to my ears in doll fun here at IDEX West--which is, of course, fantastic. I spent this morning at the show room enjoying new releases from many artists and companies. Among other great discoveries, Vogue has a line of new Ginnys inspired by their 1950s designs, Adora, Inc. has a line of limited edition International babies, and Tonner Doll Company has once again outdone themselves with spectacular lines of Tyler Wentworth, Betsy McCall, Ann Estelle, and Kitty Collier. More on all these dolls later today and tomorrow.
This afternoon, the keynote address was given by Tim Luke (from the Antiques Roadshow) about "The Art of Collecting Dolls & Bears" and after, the HAUTE doll competition for Fashion Makeovers began! The contest is being judged as I'm typing this, and the entries are inspiring.
I'm off to see more dolls and will report back, in further detail, later! If you're in the San Francisco area, its not too late to visit IDEX, which takes place today and all day Sunday.
