Is Your KB Toys Store Closing?

Today, KB Toys posted a list of 356 stores that it is closing around the United States as part of its bankruptcy reorganization. To see the list of store closings, go to the KB Toys Information web site, and click on Press Information. The closest KB Toys to my location is closing, leaving only Toys R Us as a major national toy specialty store for nearly 100 miles from my location.

i am an employee of kb toys and my DM has assured me that these are just ugly rumors.
Donna you may want to ask to read the email that Andy sent out and read more into it. I don’t know if we are going to close for sure but what company stops selling gift cards that is going to stay in buisness? And the email sent tells a kinda different story. Be aware!

I hate to say it, but the writing has been on the wall. If Kb would carry things their guests wanted (and also advertised) they might of been in better shape and I am talking over the years of time.
Well, they are trying to claim bankrupt again but, they say it looks grim since the shareholders dont really want to go on… So, the question is WHEN not IF…when will the doors finally close and when will managers be canned? Usually they get rid of managers and keep staff and bring in their own. KB shoveled their own shit this time.

I have been working for kb toys for 9 years my store actually closed down last year I now transferd to a kb toys outlet. I never thought more stores would close thinking my store has been making sales…but we won’t really find out till a couple days…hopefully my store stays open
Sorry to say it but it is over. The news announced it before all of the employees at my spouses store could be told by their manager. It is sad that so many employees were kept in the dark. Good luck to all the employees losing their jobs
Lord willing we will not be losing our jobs, however Im quite sure we are a part of the downsizing with all this economy stuff happening right now. If made wonderful friends and met wonderful customers too. I’d like to say thanks for a wonderful opportunity and to all my co-workers thanks from the bottom of my heart.
Very, very sorry to hear this everyone–I’ve been following these comments with great interest, and was sad to hear the final announcement of KB Toys closing today. My children and I used to travel down to Sacramento when they were little and we’d have fun going to both FAO Schwarz and KB Toys which were in the Arden Fair mall there. So sad!
Even though I have been only a part time employee, I have been with them for 13 yrs and what realy is a bummer is that now there is only walmart, kmart and target with not that great of a toy selection. I have had so much fun working for KB and am sorry to see it close, we even outlasted toys r us where we are. It will be sad seeing the store go.
the goal has always been to shut down everyone else so there is only Walmart left to shop at…wait till 2009! more job losses, more debt, more printing money out of thin air, civil unrest will begin, food shortages coming! the economy is going into the toilet and you can count on a dollar crash!!

okay to answer all questions i work for kbtoys have for 2 years… due to the bankruptcy ALL KB TOYS STORES ARE CLOSING… OKAY TO REPEAT THAT ALLLLL!! ya i know it completely sucks that now we have to go spend an arm and a leg to buy toys at toysrus or go to walmart where thay wont have stuff you need or are looking for. there will no longer be toy stores in the malls and life sucks from it… we are over 500million dollars in debt and cant pull out of it this time like we did 5 yearss ago. GOODBYE KBTOYS
When is all of the closings supposed to happen? I hate Toysrus atleast the one near me never has the things that are on sale and you can never get any help cause you can’t find anyone around
I HAVE BEEN A SEASONAL AT KB TOYS FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS. I LOVE IT. I WORK AT A STORE IN DELAWARE AND FRANKLY IT IS ALWAYS BUSY DUE TO BEING IN A MALL. THE STAFF IS GREAT, KB SURE IS LOSING OUT ON ALL THE GREAT PEOPLE THAT WORK FOR THEM. I LOVE SHOPPING AT THE STORE, THE EMPLOYEES ARE ALWAYS HELPFUL AND EASY TO FIND, UNLIKE TOYS R US.
I shopped at the KB TOys today in Westminster Mall, CA. It is closing, as it seems from the board they are all. It was chaos and a big mess. Everything going for 50% off started yesterday, and I was there last night and again today. A shopper spied me at the register with a big bunch of toys to buy and “psst, psst,” she whispered if I would buy her gift card for cash, so I could use it and she wouldn’t be out the 30 bucks. I did. I am so sorry to hear so many of you are losing your jobs. Good luck to all of you.

does anyone have kaybee toys employee identification number that is on the w2 forms?
my grand daughter misplaced her w2 and tried filing her taxes and cant because she doesnt have the ein number. Or if anyone knows how to get ahold of a corporateoffice to get this info - please advise. Cant find that info either. Thanks
hey well ive been on a mission trying to get my w2 reordeded and its like impossible,none of the corp office # work they have completely disapperd but the only other option is that you use your last pay stub its has all the info needed.
