Trends In Dolls This Holiday Season

Tuesday December 9, 2003
The 2003 Holiday Season has been a bit of an odd one for dolls, with no stand-out hot seller for either mass market or specialty doll shops. In my doll shop, I've noticed that baby dolls are still selling strong, and I've been having an uptick in the sale of larger fashion dolls ever since the new Tyler Boutique came into my store and was planted (in a daring retailing move) right in the middle of my children's dolls section instead of my collector's fashion dolls section. I've also noticed steady sales for Collectible Barbie dolls. My porcelain doll sales remain somewhat weak. I'd love to hear from other retailers to see what trends are like in your part of the country.

If you are still looking for just the right holiday doll for a collector or for a child, don't miss my Hot Holiday Dolls for Collectors and also Hot Holiday Dolls for Children.
