No more dolls from Franklin Mint

Saturday November 15, 2003
The Franklin Mint, which bills itself as the world's largest collectibles company, is downsizing its entire operation in the wake of the large downturn in the Collectibles Market since 9/11.

The company has announced that it is laying off over 200 people, 2/3 of its work force, and that the company will from this point on focus on die-cast cars, airplanes and Harley-Davidson collectibles. Most of their other lines of collectibles, including dolls, are being, for the most part, abandoned. Find out more in the Philadelphia Enquirer's "Franklin Mint Recasting Itself, Cutting Staff."
