2004 Barbie Dolls are Hot!

Its hard to know which of the new 2004 Barbie Collectible Dolls By Year to be the most excited about--the adorable Tommy as Elvis set, The Silkstone Spa Getaway Gift Set (my mom had that weird, bubbly-flip hairdo on the brunette doll in the 1960s!) or Barbie as Catwoman. One of the real milestone dolls for 2004 will be the Bob Mackie 45th anniversary Barbie doll. Can you believe that Barbie will celebrate her 45th anniversay next year? The 35th anniversary, when I was a relatively young 32, seems ages away, and my age is so close to Barbie's that I sometimes feel like I celebrate these milestones along with her (I know that many baby boomers who played with Barbie in the 1960s feel the same way).

Then, there are more dolls in the popular Princess series--Greece, Cambodia and England. I'm especially excited about the England doll, since my daughter is 1/4 English heritage. Plus, with great designer dolls, like Kate Spade, 2004 should be a great year for Barbie collectors! You can see all the 2004 dolls that have been announced so far on the Barbie Collectibles web site.
