Barbie is a Lesbian...

Well, no--she really is NOT. BUT, there is a huge "Barbie is a Lesbian" media blitz right now surrounding a 14-year old New York teenager who claims that her school violated her civil rights because they suspended her when she showed up at school wearing a "Barbie is a Lesbian" tee-shirt. This story has been picked up by ALL the major media, and it makes me wonder--why is it that the only time Barbie dolls (and other dolls!) seem to make news in the major media is when they are connected to sex? Remember the "Lingerie Barbie Is Too Sexy For Children" story last year when the moral majority got Mattel to stop publicizing a popular collector doll because it was being sold in its lingerie?
